Q & A
Q: Do I need a certain number of followers to apply?
A: We’re looking for applicants who already have an active and engaged social media presence. While there's no exact minimum, the program is designed for individuals who are already creating awareness content and have built an audience that regularly engages with their posts.
Q: How much time will this take each month?
A: On average, Peer Leaders contribute 5+ hours per month. The more content you choose to create, the more you can earn (up to $2,500 USD annually).
Q: What’s required vs. optional?
A: All Peer Leaders must complete basic engagement each month (e.g., comment on 10 posts and share 5 stories). Additional content creation—like Reels, blogs, and live chats—is optional and paid.
Q: Is this a volunteer or paid position?
A: This is a paid leadership opportunity. Peer Leaders receive a stipend for content they create, based on a set breakdown of payment per post type.
Q: Will I get help with content ideas?
A: Yes! Each month we’ll send you ready-to-use topics, talking points, and even graphics to support your content planning.
Q: Can I use the content I create for AiArthritis on my own platforms?
A: Absolutely. In fact, that’s the goal—share it on your platforms to educate and support your community.
Q: I’m new to patient advocacy—can I still apply?
A: If you're already creating social content related to your disease and engaging your audience, we’d love to hear from you—even if you’re newer to the advocacy space.
Q: What’s the difference between a Peer Leader and a Peer Partner?
A: Peer Leaders commit to consistent engagement each month (about 5–20 hours) and participate in regular content creation. Peer Partners have a larger social media reach and contribute less frequently—at least 3 collaborations per year—including participation in World AiArthritis Day. Both receive the same per-post compensation and access to monthly content ideas and talking points.
Q: Will I get to choose which tier I’m in?
A: You’ll fill out a single application. Based on your responses—including your social media presence, engagement style, and availability—we will invite you to participate as either a Peer Leader or Peer Partner.
Q: Is there a difference in how much each role gets paid?
A: No—both Peer Leaders and Peer Partners receive the same per-piece compensation. The only difference is the expected level of activity and frequency of contribution.
Q: What if my availability or engagement changes?
A: We understand life happens. If you're accepted into one tier and your capacity shifts, you can reach out and we’ll discuss possible adjustments.
